Experiences are worth traveling for – this idea was developed a hundred years ago by the French brothers André and Édouard Michelin, whose red guide is known and respected worldwide. In the Czech Republic, the idea of independent and objective evaluation was taken up by TopLife Czech publishing house through long-term monitoring of the quality of selected experiential restaurants. ***** Since 2014, TopLife Czech has published the results of evaluations of approximately one hundred domestic experiential restaurants in the annual guide Best Restaurants. The publishing house's inspectors anonymously taste dishes and test the quality of services in the best establishments in the Czech Republic. The result of repeated visits and evaluations is a grade awarded by the publishing house – the Golden Lion. The lowest, but unattainable grade for the vast majority of restaurants in the country is one Golden Lion, while the dream highest grade for chefs and restaurant owners is three Golden Lions. The organizing publishing house finances the entire project exclusively through the sale of the guidebook and advertising.
