Description
The poetess Lydie Romanská created a manuscript for a new poetry collection titled Zpovídat se z poezie between 2019 and 2021. She continues with a principle evident in her recent books, namely the perception of poetry as a new reality, an independent artifact unaffected by established principles of working with themes or logic, as advocated by the French literary theorist Henri Bremond and, in our country, by the critic F. X. Šalda or the poet Vítězslav Nezval. Her poems stem from the experience of relationships in the world of humans, nature, and things, from their constellations in functioning and beauty. The text is rich in metaphors, brimming with associations, yet it is a frugal poetry, yielding to the word in its new meanings given by original perspectives. The book is complemented by a series of photographs by Vojtěch Kemenny titled Zahrada. The images were taken at the turn of spring and summer 2022, inspired by several locations in Prague: the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science at Charles University Na Slupi, the park at Kampa, Vojanovy sady, and a meadow between Šeberov and Hrnčíři.
