Description
The book 'Temple of Art Rudolfinum' is a tribute to an exceptional building. Since its opening in 1885, it has served a number of institutions and undergone various adaptations. Nevertheless, it remains a harmonious structure 'of which there are few in the world, let alone in modern Prague.' A team of ten authors maps the architectural and cultural-historical history of the building over five hundred pages, from the first idea to the beginning of the 1990s. The stories of the institutions that resided here intertwine with the fates of the personalities that shaped the Rudolfinum's character. The book is accompanied by over 270 historical photographs, drawings, plans, and posters.
