A full-color publication, filled with historical photographs, postcards, plans of railway buildings, and other documents from the late 19th and the first half of the 20th century, is dedicated to the nostalgic railway winding along the Sázava River. In reality, it consists of several lines that differ in significance, time of origin, ownership, or operator, and ultimately in their development. The first volume, focusing on the section between today's towns of Žďár nad Sázavou, Havlíčkův Brod, Světlá nad Sázavou, and Kácov, presents the oldest part (the section between the then German Brod and Světlá from 1870) on the backbone railway of the Austrian Northwest Railway Vienna–Prague/Děčín, which was supplemented at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, during the peak of the second wave of local self-help railway construction, by the Local Railway German Brod–Žďár (1898) and the Local Railway Světlá–Ledeč–Kácov (1903). Now, all we need to do is board the imaginary train in Žďár and we can set off against the flow of time all the way to Kácov, a picturesque, now intermediate station that, due to its authenticity, has often served filmmakers in recent years by offering an untouched station free from modern interventions.
