Škwor is celebrating twenty years and releasing a new album! In the spirit of the upcoming celebrations of the band's twenty-year existence, the Prague rock band Škwor is releasing a new album titled Uzavřenej kruh. This is their eighth studio opus and presents Škwor as a star of the genre and an elite of the domestic rock scene. The album was once again created in their home studio under the production of Leo Holan, who is also responsible for the final sound of 13 new tracks. Uzavřenej kruh is harder and more 'driving' than the previous studio album Hledání identity, but it also features the traditional ballads with an acoustic sound. Over two decades of existence, Škwor has developed its own sound, which is now its trademark, as well as the lyrics of the band's frontman Petr Hrdlička. These are straightforward, understandable, and thematically based on events around us, from generally perceived social issues to the most intimate human relationships. When writing songs, the band is not bound by anything; they have no specific agreement or unified concept, the songs simply arise according to the current atmosphere and mood. However, what the band traditionally respects is melodiousness, and Škwor does not compromise on this even in the new album.
