Description
The photographic publication featuring over 420 pieces presents, in the form of a double portrait, the faces of both well-known and overlooked personalities of the Czech cultural scene, which the author captured consistently over two decades from 1992 to 2012. Unlike staged studio photography, which delves into the inner self of the individual in the spirit of modern psychology, the pairs of protagonists were caught by Zdeněk Merta in different places and situations, leading to a direct confrontation of their relationship, the intensity and external appearance of which the individual protagonists often had no idea about. The publication is accompanied by texts from poets Eugen Brikcius and Petr Král.
