For thirty years, I worked as a corporate lawyer and manager. In 1999, I reached the point of breast cancer. Only after several more years did I finally start to learn what I had thought for years I couldn't do – live. At first, I wrote for myself, but over time, the conviction grew within me that my story has something to say to others as well. No one can solve our problems, heal our illnesses, or mend our relationships for us. It's up to us. Doctors can give us time, our loved ones support and love, but our lives are in our own hands. Today, I am fulfilling my long-forgotten dreams: I meet people, listen to their stories, and write on my website www.odnemocikmoci.cz. I hope this book will be an inspiration for you – both the sick and the healthy – and perhaps even a prompt for changing your current way of life.
