Description
LEOŠ ŠIMÁNEK and his wife Lenka have once again set off to their cottage in the Orlické Mountains for the sixth time, to share more travel experiences with his brother and sister-in-law, resulting in a new autobiographical travelogue. For several days, they reminisced about their adventures down under on the other side of the world. Australia may be a small continent, but it is also an incredibly vast country! It is a land of amazing contrasts with an unimaginable number of natural beauties. In the south, high mountains rise from the sea, covered in snow during winter, while the northern part stretches endlessly with tropical coastlines lined with coconut palms and coral reefs. There are extensive forests with gigantic trees and areas of boundless desert. In the interior, deep canyons with numerous waterfalls and bizarre rock formations fascinate, while the so-called Red Centre is dominated by the largest monolith in the world. The Šimánek family traveled around and across Australia for four months, with their main goal being to explore the beautiful and immensely diverse nature there. They also had numerous opportunities to meet the very kind and hospitable local inhabitants. The book is literally packed with unusual experiences, documented by many mostly unpublished photographs.
