Česko-slovenský a slovensko-český diferenčný slovník – Balcová Táňa (2017)

The Czech-Slovak and Slovak-Czech differential dictionary is precisely what is increasingly needed as time passes since the division of Czechoslovakia. It focuses on the differences, distinctions, and word formation deviations in the vocabulary of Czech and Slovak. The publication of such a dictionary has been prompted by several factors. On one hand, there are objective factors related primarily to the division of the former common state and the resulting social-communication distance felt mainly by the new generations of Czechs and Slovaks, and on the other hand, the need for such a dictionary has also been spurred by the effort to actively maintain the exceptionally close relationships between our two nations. The dictionary offers the broad Czech and Slovak public a welcome opportunity to better navigate the living dynamics of our languages and, through formal understanding of the other language, to support understanding on a human and national level.
