Renowned psychologist, sociologist, and essayist Jan Kosek decided to take a break from scientific work and present a practical form of his lifelong love for fairy tales. The fairy tale is built on a classic framework – three young men set out into the world, two older ones disappoint despite apparent success, while the youngest, Honza, overcomes all obstacles. After a victorious clash with a repulsive dark sorcerer, he frees the enchanted forest kingdom and wins the hand of Princess Krasomila. As magical helpers of the three brothers, three forest sprites (and classmates from magic school) appear alongside the text – Soudeček, Tyčka, and Popleta. The book contains a number of thrilling and comedic situations; the author offers readers what our hurried times so lack – humor, mystery, and poetry.
