This Czech-language biology textbook for eighth grade follows the Czech national education framework and emphasizes clarity, comprehensibility and logical connections, with tasks supporting the development of key competencies. It is divided into two main sections: mammals and human biology. The first introduces the characteristic features, body structure, importance and typical behavior of mammals, followed by an overview of selected groups and representatives with color photographs. Descriptions are supplemented by interesting facts in colored side columns, and the chapters on individual mammal groups share a clear, consistent structure. The second section covers human biology, with chapters devoted to the body’s individual systems. Each concludes with an overview of common illnesses and injuries, together with prevention guidance. Illustrations, diagrams and summary tables complement the main text, while blue side columns contain additional material not intended for memorization. Every chapter includes practical tasks and observations, ecological topics and a clear summary, with review sections throughout the textbook, a final review, an index and solutions to selected revision exercises.
