The reader is part of a new edition of Reading with Understanding and expands the series of textbooks aimed at supporting reading literacy. The textbook corresponds to the concept and goals of the RVP ZV. The main aim is to further deepen children's interest in literature and to motivate them to read through engaging articles and entertaining tasks in a non-violent way. Each literary excerpt is accompanied by questions and tasks aimed at developing children's reading literacy. The texts are chosen to include all literary genres appropriate for the given age group and to correspond with the curriculum covered in science and social studies classes. Most interdisciplinary questions are also targeted at these subjects. There are also questions and tasks focused on the ethical education of students. The reader contains explanations of several basic concepts from literary theory. Less known terms from the excerpts are explained with a brief encyclopedic description marked with an owl symbol. Puzzles, fun tests, and games provide children with additional entertainment.
