Logic sometimes creates monsters. Monsters have accompanied Benoît Mandelbrot throughout his life. The world of his childhood is dominated by real monsters, brought forth by the rise of Hitler and the expansion of the Third Reich. He escaped from the Warsaw ghetto with his parents to Paris. For a Jewish teenager, life in Nazi-occupied France was unbearable in every way, and for Benoît, two things complicate everything even more – his undeniable genius and shyness around people. Like anyone who possesses superpowers, he is somewhat of an outsider. The Mandelbrots flee to a small town in the south, hide their identity, and desperately try to blend in with the French villagers. However, Benoît Mandelbrot's story takes a different trajectory than war-torn Europe. He finds escape from the world's cruelty in other universes and secret dimensions. While discovering unknown wonders, he is drawn into the endless variable patterns of mathematics and magic. Yet even here, in his dream world, he is haunted by new monsters created by strict logic, breaking through to the surface of real life. For his classmates, Benoît is too intelligent and too arrogant. Their rivalry culminates in disaster. He must transform hidden dimensions and ancient mysticism into real safety and save his loved ones.
