Description
This handbook introduces the development of internal electrical wiring and sets out the basic criteria for preparing and carrying out electrical installations in apartment buildings, family houses and public buildings. The eighth edition continues to focus on electrical installations in extensions, additions, conversions and partial or complete renovations of individual apartments, as well as the complete replacement of electrical wiring in family houses, apartment buildings and public buildings. It covers renewable electricity sources, especially photovoltaic power plants, and wiring for connecting charging equipment for electric vehicles. Detailed attention is given to the design of internal electrical wiring, including the selection of suitable electrical appliances according to household requirements. In relation to specific external influences, the handbook explains how to select and install electrical equipment in accordance with ČSN 33 2000-5-51 ed. 3+Z1+Z2 and ČSN 33 2000-5-52 ed. 2 and with selected building structures. It also presents principles for reducing electromagnetic interference based on ČSN 33 2000-4-444. Readers will learn about the conditions for using various luminaires designed for installation in suspended ceilings and furniture, as currently incorporated into IEC publications. The chapters address electrical wiring design, the main parts of electrical systems in apartment buildings and administrative buildings, distribution boards, consumer units and electricity-meter cores, photovoltaic and other renewable electricity sources, electrical devices and their basic classification and use, the installation of electrical wiring, and the basic selection of household appliances according to household size and the size of the apartment. The eighth edition also includes ways to modernise older electrical wiring with new devices, as well as electrical installations and equipment intended for outdoor use. The text has been updated according to technical standards and legislation issued since 2019, particularly ČSN 33 2130 ed. 4 and amendment Z1 to ČSN 33 2000-4-42 ed. 2, which recommends measures to protect against the effects of arc faults in final circuits. The handbook provides electrical professionals with a standard reference for the knowledge required of electrical technicians and senior electrical technicians working on residential and public-building installations.
