The impetus for the publication of this manual in 2010 was the request from several electricians to summarize in one publication all more than 20 Practical Tools for electricians that our company has published. In this, the fifth – updated edition, the tools (listed here as images) are supplemented with comments and updated according to the technical standards valid as of July 1, 2023. In accordance with current knowledge, the maximum lengths of conductors for which protection by automatic disconnection is ensured in the TN 230/400 V network have been extended in Chapter Three (Protection against electric shock) within Figure 10 (Tool No. 4) compared to previous practice. A similar adjustment has been made in Figure 11 (Tool 20). The introductory part of the manual includes additional important information about quantities and units used in electrical engineering. An additional tool (Fig. 26) "Informative maximum values of loop impedance for rated currents of circuit breakers for domestic installations and screw fuses" has been added.
