Description
The second expanded edition of the Tattoo Encyclopedia presents a more extensive encyclopedic arrangement of the history of tattooing across history, continents, and ethnicities. Every group, clan, or community that practiced tattooing had its places where people prepared for tattoos or where the tattoos were actually performed. Tattoo sessions were often accompanied by music, songs, or other rituals. They had their tattoo artists and their assistants. Of course, they used various tattooing tools to transfer and apply designs. Last but not least, they also used different ingredients to obtain colors for tattooing. For all of this, individual communities had their names and terms in their own language or dialect, and this book brings these terms along with descriptions, many of which have long been lost to history.
