This Czech-language textbook continues the study of national history begun in the previous school year, taking students from the beginning of the modern era to the present day. It opens with a review of the most important events from prehistoric and medieval times. Each page contains drawn or period illustrations and exercises related to the text, while almost every chapter begins with a literary extract followed by questions testing reading attention and comprehension. Review sections appear after every few chapters, with a final review at the end of the textbook.
