Description
This Czech-language publication presents the current and dynamic development of digital medicine in more than 25 chapters covering innovative topics at the intersection of information technology, legislation and clinical practice. Digital medicine is treated as an independent, cross-disciplinary field affecting the entire spectrum of healthcare, from general practitioners to highly specialised centres, while placing growing emphasis on patients’ rights. A substantial part of the book presents the results of the Centre for Electronic Healthcare at the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and its approach to remote medicine. It examines key systemic changes such as interoperability, the European Health Data Space (EHDS), the sharing of laboratory results, including the three-way referral form, and the implementation of projects under the National Recovery Plan. The publication also addresses the creation of a legislative framework, the assessment of telemedicine projects, the definition of a universal platform and opportunities for practical use in everyday clinical practice. Separate chapters focus on implementing artificial intelligence in clinical medicine, explaining this complex subject in an accessible way for daily healthcare practice. The book also considers open access to data sets from the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the gradual development of national specialised information systems, which enable realistic assessment of the current state of healthcare, monitoring of trends and the creation of long-term forecasts, including the planning of health-insurance parameters. It creates space for professional dialogue about the future of digital medicine and offers a comprehensive view of its development, with the aim of achieving functional and sustainable solutions for patients across all medical fields.
