Description
The most beautiful railway lines in our country are rightly considered to be those situated in the valley of the Sázava River. The former engineers, builders, and workers accomplished a feat they could be proud of, which we still present as examples of technical skill and railway construction. Lovers of viaducts and tunnels will find the most significant structures here. This year marks seven years since the publication of the book "Posázavská dráha Žďár–Německý Brod–Světlá–Kácov." With the book by Karel Černý and Martin Navrátil, "Posázavská dráha Praha–Čerčany–Kácov with branches to Dobříš and Kolín," featuring nearly three hundred unique photographs, we offer a loose continuation of the 2017 book. This time we embark on the Posázavský pacifik in the opposite direction – from Prague against the flow of the Vltava and Sázava rivers. Alongside interesting texts, readers can see many previously unpublished images from archival sources and private collectors' collections. Among them is a collection of colored photographs from the early 20th century from the collections of the National Museum in Prague.
