Mafia hunter Karel Tichý devoted 26 years to the police service, spending the final years of his career as an officer in an elite anti-corruption unit. He was among the best-informed state officials, and together with his colleagues demonstrably saved the state billions of crowns. At the unit, he directed operational work involving the gathering of information through wiretaps and, above all, in the field, often with the help of agents.
