Description
The Crimes of the Court Counselor is not a classic detective series, although it features real criminal cases that occurred in České Budějovice and its surroundings between 1909 and 1914. The plot is enlivened by the fates of many real and fictional characters who accompany the reader through the six volumes of this series. In its fifth volume, titled after one of the stories I Knew That Dead Person, Court Counselor Vyroubal and a trio of police inspectors solve not only crimes but also amusing or more serious situations that everyday life in the city brings. We also continue to follow the personal life of the likable youngest inspector Mlejnek. All of this takes place against the backdrop of contemporary events in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in 1913.
