Description
The Crimes of the Court Councillor is not a classic detective series, although we encounter real criminal cases that occurred in České Budějovice and its immediate surroundings between 1909 and 1914. The plot is enlivened by the fates of many real and fictional characters, accompanying the reader through six volumes of this series. In its fourth volume, titled after one of the stories Love to the Grave, Court Councillor Vyroubal and a trio of police inspectors solve not only crimes but also amusing or more serious situations that everyday life in the city brings. We also continue to follow the romantic troubles of the likable youngest inspector Mlejnek. All of this takes place against the backdrop of contemporary events in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in 1912.
