The plot is enlivened by the fates of many real and fictional characters, accompanying the reader through six volumes of this series. ***** In this second volume of the series, titled after one of the stories 'When the Comet Arrives', Court Councillor Vyroubal and a trio of police inspectors solve not only serious crimes but also amusing, trivial, or more serious situations that everyday life in the city brings. All this takes place against the backdrop of contemporary events in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in 1910.
