Adolescence is an important chapter in the development of every individual. However, it is also a period that many parents are concerned about. How to prepare for this period and how to cope with it, especially when my child has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? This publication aims to answer that question. It is a collaborative work of professionals who have been working with people with ASD for a long time. Each contributor, from their own perspective, has tried to share their experiences in the individual chapters. Alongside experts, there are also parents of children with ASD among the authors. The book describes the changes that occur in the child itself (physical and psychological aspects of adolescence, developmental changes related to ASD, leisure activities of the adolescent child, specifics of peer relationships). Furthermore, it describes the dynamics of relationships within the family (chapters on sibling relationships and functioning at home) and in the school environment. A separate chapter is dedicated to career choice, risky behavior associated with this period, and possible therapeutic support for a happier life.
