Jak na sexuální výchovu u dětí a dospívajících s PAS – Petlanová Zychová Věra (2022)

The publication practically addresses the topic of sexual education for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The author summarizes her many years of experience working with people with ASD in this area and shows how to approach the topic of sexuality at home, in school, or in social services. She discusses, for example, the question of when it is appropriate to start sexual education, and elaborates on the topics that need to be addressed with children and adolescents with ASD (touch, privacy, self-awareness, personal hygiene). She also covers the topic of boundaries and rules in sexual education and awareness, as well as interpersonal relationships. A separate chapter is dedicated to puberty in children with ASD and the sexuality of people with severe intellectual disabilities. The book is interwoven with numerous practical examples. It summarizes suitable methods for working on the topic of sexuality, such as visualization, mind mapping, or role-playing scenarios. In the appendix, parents, educators, and social service workers will find a summary of available materials, tools, and literature, as well as films and videos on the topic of sexual education. The proposed methods and discussed topics can also inspire work with adults with ASD.
