At Orlík Castle, high above the Vltava River, a gathering of the most prominent aristocrats takes place at the invitation of the Duke of Schwarzenberg. While the outside world trembles – a revolution has just erupted in France, changing the existing social order – a seeming calm prevails within the castle's chambers. However, after a festive evening, a shocking death occurs among the noble guests. An unusual duo embarks on the investigation: a young priest, originally called to the castle as a librarian, and a former nun, forced to leave the convent and find a new place in the world.
