Dear reader, I present to you a true story composed of memories, correspondence, diaries, and other documents belonging to the already deceased members of my family. After the death of my mother Amálie Loucká, whose fate is captured in this literary collage, I began to search the past of my lineage and now feel the need to share with you the horrific facts that illuminate the hidden side of life of undoubtedly many noble families. Amálie did not experience much happiness during her maturation. When her mother, Countess Barbora Loucká, fell into a debt trap, she was forced to send young Amálie to Prague to her sister Ludmila, with whom she had once parted on bad terms. She believed that old quarrels were forgotten and that Ludmila would take good care of her niece. However, she had no idea that her sister made a living as a madam and that her house was one of the notorious dens of vice, where the most debauched members of Prague's elite gathered.
