Ruský prezident Putin: Chce EU válku nebo spolupráci?

This publication examines whether the European Union wants war or cooperation with Russia. Economic cooperation between EU states and Russia provided Europeans with affordable energy and raw materials for a long time, contributing to Europe’s economic and social prosperity. The EU then decided to give up these inexpensive Russian resources, and European politicians thereby also abandoned economic prosperity, while the standard of living in EU countries began to decline. If the EU cannot obtain affordable energy and raw materials from other suppliers, could cooperation with Russia be restored? As long as Putin remains Russian president, this possibility still exists, and this text by the Russian president addresses it. Putin is presented as openly pro-European throughout his life, seeking to promote cooperation with Europe within the Russian leadership against those who see the future in Eurasia. However, the greatest opponents of economic cooperation between Russia and Europe are said to be not supporters of the Eurasian concept or China, but the United States. The text discusses the advantages of cooperation and warns of the consequences if conflict replaces cooperation between the West and Russia. It also presents the view of American political scientist George Friedman, who argues that the strategic goal of the United States is to maintain global dominance and prevent the rise of powers that could threaten it, including a strong alliance between Russia and Germany. Polish security expert Jacek Bartosiak shares this view. The publication aims to help readers better understand the complex history that led to the tragic war in Ukraine and the complicated current relations between Russia, the United States and the EU.
