I am convinced that exploring the reactions of Muslim orthodoxy can help understand the historical development of Islamic theology and the reasons why it finds itself in the positions it does today. When I speak of Muslim orthodoxy in this work, I draw from the dogmatics of Muslim Sunni orthodoxy, which considers itself the only true bearer of the supposedly authentic teachings of Muhammad. It is highly contentious whether this truly represents orthodoxy in the sense of preserving the line of the original teachings of the founder of Islam, Muhammad, or if it is rather a direction of Islam that has merely 'appropriated' the authority of orthodoxy, while itself being a more innovative direction. Conversely, in such a case, the orthodox direction could rather be that of some Muslim rationalists, which in itself is one of the major questions in the research of the development of Islam at its inception. The fundamental problem in addressing this topic is the fact that literature available in the Czech language containing translations of the positions of Muslim orthodoxy is very limited. There are only a few books published mostly by Czech Muslims.
