With the publication of this work, I want to remind not only of the figure of the great Pushkin – the founder of modern Russian literature, but also of the figure of the great connoisseur of Russian culture and the author of this work, Alfred Ljudvigovič Bem, who ultimately met a tragic end – most likely abducted by the Soviet secret service in 1945. This work was published thanks to the translation efforts of Petr Křička – a very prolific Moravian poet and translator. Pushkin is not only a symbol of Russia or Europe, but also of Africa, because Pushkin's maternal great-grandfather was of African descent and earned a place at the Russian imperial court. He was reportedly a favorite of Tsar Peter the Great, who sent him to study in France, where he befriended the French thinker Voltaire, who called him the 'black star of enlightenment.' Thus, these family roots of Pushkin influenced his personality and work, making him a symbol of the connection of many cultures, which is still so strong and common in Russia today. Therefore, it is all the more important to spread this work about Pushkin, which is a masterpiece summarizing his work.
