Description

A significant milestone in the life of the poet Christian Morgenstern was his introduction to anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner in 1909. However, Morgenstern was prepared for the meeting by his spiritual journey up to that point (the idea of reincarnation had been a given for him since early youth) and also by a mystical 'breakthrough' in 1906. His acceptance of Christ's impulse then faced no obstacles. The meaning of this acceptance only fully revealed itself after Morgenstern's death in 1914: Rudolf Steiner spoke several times about his observation of the poet's being on his posthumous journey, where, infused with Christ, he radiated powerful cosmic imaginations and thus became a leader of many souls who had not found their way to Christ during their lifetime, such as representatives of German idealism. The book contains a collection of passages from R. Steiner's lectures and speeches dedicated to Morgenstern, a biographical study of Ch. Morgenstern by Radomil Hradil, and a collection of Morgenstern's poems from his anthroposophical period.
