Description
A sci-fi dystopia from the distant future of Earth, the Sun is slowly dying and the planet is completely different from blue. There is only one city, and within it survives the last human community. Beyond the city's borders lies either a toxic mass of ocean or a wild dark jungle inhabited by monsters and mutants. The people in the city live in the shadow of a constant threat of impending doom; they can perform complex genetic mutations, but they can no longer read or write. The uncomfortable and rebellious are sent to the Island, a prison colony in the jungle. Among one transport is Stefan Advani, a rebel, an outlaw, a prisoner, one of those who survive the demise of the human world. The book is a story about him and the end of civilization, as new heirs of Earth arrive.
