Description
Mark Vernon, a mechanic and skilled craftsman, feels that he has finally found the right place for himself in an uncertain world. He has managed to secure a job in the safest of the worlds of the Commonwealth. It seems that he and his family are no longer in danger. Mark helps in the construction of starships, which the super-rich will use to escape in case of catastrophe. One day, Nigel Sheldon asks him for a small favor. The man who created the Commonwealth does not take no for an answer. The problem with small favors, however, is that they often come at a huge price... The war is not going favorably for the human race, and the treacherous activities of the Starfarer threaten the very heart of the Commonwealth. Only the destruction of the traitor can change the balance of power. Paula Myo is getting closer to her goal, but the entire operation ends in failure due to sabotage from within.
