Description
The unconventional motivational diary is designed for children in the first grade of elementary school. It serves to record experiences of each day and week for a period of five months. The goal of the diary, which is also a journal or notebook, is to lead the child to a greater awareness of everyday (nice) moments, inspire them to engage in physical and creative activities, and strengthen social relationships and bonds. The diary is based on the latest findings in psychology and guides children (and adults) towards greater mindfulness, i.e., focusing attention on what is happening inside and around us. By being more aware of our thoughts and feelings, we can gain greater distance from them, thereby strengthening our resilience and ability to better cope with stressful situations, seek alternative solutions in the face of failure, etc. By noticing everyday beautiful moments, we create our own "mental gallery" of nice memories that we can draw upon in tougher days. To ensure that the child does not see the diary as an obligation to fulfill, but as an enjoyable activity, we recommend active involvement from parents (especially with younger children). Shared moments and insights into the inner world of the child (and the adult) are enriching for both parties. A filled diary can serve as a lovely reminder of a specific period in the child's life.
