Description
After the Great Crisis, the Union rules over the masses of the poor with speeches about rights and almost absolute control through technology. Will Deniss succeed in a forced rebellion against the system? A sci-fi novel set in the near future, when the population explosion on Earth peaks at nine billion people. The once democratic Union has become a tool through which a narrow group of the wealthy keeps the masses of the poor in check with the help of nearly absolute control over every individual through modern technologies – drones, bots, and other advancements primarily used for spying. But beneath the surveilled gray zone lies another, darker world: the realm of gangsters, mafias, and even deeper, the world of independent underground groups and rebels. When bartender Deniss finds herself in a situation where the Union is unable to provide timely treatment for her sick daughter, who has only a few weeks left to live, she decides to accept an offer from a mafia boss, undergo an untested experiment, and allow her dying daughter another life in a virtual world. However, this puts her in sharp conflict with the Union. And it's a matter of life and death...
