The textbook set Vlastivěda 5 consists of a history and geography section. Each section is processed in a separate textbook supplemented by a workbook and an independent interactive textbook: the history section is titled Vlastivěda 5 – From the Beginning of Modern Times to the Present, while the geography section is titled Vlastivěda 5 – The Czech Republic as Part of Europe. The entire set is part of a modern series of textbooks from our publishing house, published in the Reading with Understanding edition aimed at supporting reading literacy through the use of experiential learning methods. The modern colorful textbooks are developed in accordance with the RVP ZV, focusing on the development of key competencies of students. We understand key competencies as a sum of knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and values. The curriculum is therefore seen as a means to acquire and develop all components of key competencies. The acquired knowledge is then utilized in the form of competencies in everyday life and practical situations.
