Description
The book describes a sixty-day voyage of an ocean fishing vessel from the island of Taiwan, across the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, to the fishing areas off the coast of Argentina, in which the author participated as a crew member at the turn of 2001 and 2002. The sea voyage is an escape for the author from the constraining rules of life in human society on land, a certain departure into tranquility and seclusion, as practiced for centuries by Chinese sages and hermits. The book is rich in vivid and poetic descriptions of natural scenery and the transformations of the sea in various climatic zones and under different weather conditions. These descriptions equally express the author's inner feelings and his views on the place of man in the world.
