Description

The novel combines elements of a political thriller with motifs of so-called 'cli-fi' (climate fiction) and alternates between two plot lines: one set in 2015 captures the events of several months leading up to the explosion at the power plant, while the other, set in 2017, is narrated against the backdrop of a climaxing presidential campaign. The book is a gripping treatment of current themes and a critique of the powerful who do not hesitate to sacrifice their humanity or human lives to achieve their goals. A literary thriller, published by Rye Field in August 2013. The book received the Wu Zhuoliu Literary Prize for 2013, and its author was selected as one of the twenty most successful Chinese-language authors under the age of 40 (Sinophone 'Top 20 under 40'), and in 2007 he was nominated for the Man Asian Literary Prize.
