Description
Stanley (originally Standa) Horn went to the USA for a study stay after high school, where he managed to penetrate the social elite. The boring stereotype of life in a gilded cage slowly wore him down until he attended a class reunion in his hometown in the heart of Moravia. There, he experienced an adventure that caught the attention of various mysterious people, forcing him to do things he would never have thought of before. The core of the story revolves around three tragedies: a suicide that – although committed by one's own hand – was hardly voluntary, a revenge murder, and finally a fatal accident, the background of which is better left unknown. And the conclusion of the story of the 'limited liability adventurer' even hints at how one can sometimes survive their own death... Jans's variation on the eternal themes of Love, Revenge, and Death is not only an exciting read but also provides insight into the backstage of today's world.
