Description
The author, Prof. Ing. Petr Jan Pernica, CSc. (1948), alongside his academic career, has been writing poetry as a counterpoint to his numerous professional books and articles since the mid-1980s. He describes them as ranging from 'delayed juvenilia' to 'premature senility.' On one hand, they critically reflect the state of society in which we live; on the other hand, they arise from the 'internal pressure' of his own spiritual experiences. The poems included in this anthology thus describe an arc from 'the blackest of blacks' to 'the whitest of whites' and confirm the truth of Jiří Kolář: 'The attitude you take towards life will determine the poems you write.'
