The fairy tales take place in the Ledecký Forest near Dobrovice. In the beautiful nature of the Central Bohemian region. All around is a magical forest surrounded by other ponds. In this forest, 24 beautiful fairy tale stories unfold, complete with some moral lessons. In the book, you can meet the fairy Cecilka, the water sprite Hadrava, the spider Masožravka, the fawn Nebojsa, the dwarf Bumbrlíček, the little devil Čumrajda, the dog Kazánek, and many other little spirits. Marta Pihlerová (1944 - 2009) was born in Jičín. She later studied at a high school there. After graduation, she completed a two-year course in Opava to work as a telephone operator at Czech Post. She loved animals and had many friends. She told her grandchildren beautiful fairy tales about fairies, dwarfs, magical sprites, and other little spirits. Kristýna Cibulková is the oldest granddaughter of the author, who edited her grandmother's manuscript and fulfilled her great dream.
