After three years of wandering the seas and oceans, we found ourselves on the opposite side of the globe. There begins our journey back, the journey home. Just the two of us and the sailboat IRMA, with nearly 20,000 nautical miles ahead of us. The voyage from New Zealand to Australia took us through the exotic Pacific islands of Fiji, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. Later, we spent several months in Sydney, Melbourne, and also in a camper van on a 4,000 km journey along the eastern and southeastern coast of Australia. The long and challenging sail through the Great Barrier Reef and the Torres Strait held a mirror to our skills and mental resilience. We faced a tough moment when the boat uncontrollably rushed towards the reefs after the anchor was released. In Indonesia, we wove between forgotten and impoverished islands for months. But we also didn't miss out on famous destinations like Lombok, Bali, and Borneo. We then sailed through the busy Strait of Malacca to Malaysia and Thailand. Along the way, we even experienced a nighttime attempted robbery. We pushed ourselves to the limit while sailing in the Indian Ocean, along the dangerous coast of southern Africa and around the Cape of Good Hope.
