Description
When Leonard Franks and his wife Ellie leave the noise and hustle of London to enjoy their dream retreat in the seclusion of Dartmoor, everything seems perfect. However, their dream soon shatters into pieces. One late March afternoon, Leonard steps out of the house to bring in firewood – and he never returns. Nine months later, he is still missing. The police investigation has hit a dead end, so Ellie and her family turn to private investigator David Raker, who specializes in missing persons cases. But nothing can prepare him for what he will soon discover. Behind Franks' disappearance lies a terrifying secret, buried so deep that it should never have been uncovered. As Raker begins to slowly unravel the web of lies, he finds himself in danger, not only for himself but also for everyone he cares about.
