Description
Author Martin Štěpán recalls the history of the two largest manufacturers of firefighting equipment – the Stratílek company from Vysoké Mýto and the Smekal company from Slatiňany, but also mentions other smaller manufacturers of firefighting goods from the area of today's Pardubice Region. In the following chapter, readers will become acquainted with the basic types of pumps used – from hand pumps, mobile hand pumps, steam, motorized, to automotive pumps. The most interesting of them are depicted in the next part of the book with historical and contemporary photographs alongside firefighting vehicles.
