Jan Laňka's book Gesture stands out from his previous works. Playfulness, lightness, and exaggeration have pushed irony and social sarcasm into the background. In his third collection, the author seems to say that nothing is more important than being able to look at everything around us with the much-needed perspective. He plays with words and meanings, placing individual situations and events familiar from everyday life into entirely new contexts.
