The final book of the trilogy (in previous years, the author published monographs dedicated separately to diabetes and thyroid diseases in children) is intended for both general pediatricians and pediatric specialists. She beautifully introduces the topic: "The complex network of the immune system represents an apparently impenetrable barrier to mutual cooperation and control of immunocompetent cells; nevertheless, it can be breached, which is the main cause of autoimmune diseases. Just as the immune system cells gradually process antigens and present them to the immune system as simple peptides, I will also attempt to explain the complexities of autoimmune disorders as simply as possible. Just as the cooperation of the specific and non-specific immune systems is essential, one cannot imagine the absence of cooperation between the specialist and the general pediatrician, into whose office a child with autoimmune endocrinopathy enters."
