The plot of the new book by a renowned author of historical novels is set in the tumultuous times of the 17th century. In the story of the forbidden love of Czech brother Lukáš Hrachovec for the beautiful Anna Wagnerová, taking place at the beginning of the Thirty Years' War, the personal storyline intertwines with historical events that shaped our history, particularly the history of Moravia. The author of the novel, who, as always, manages to combine historical accuracy with captivating storytelling, vividly describes how the Czech Estates' uprising and the subsequent war impacted Moravia and its inhabitants. Initially, they approached the Czech uprising with skepticism and tried to maintain neutrality, but in the end, they were drawn into the whirlwind of events, and the horrors of war fully affected them as well.
