The "Children of the Holocaust" – each of them is different, yet they all share the same fate. While their parents experienced the Nazi tyranny and brutality firsthand, enduring years in inhumane conditions of concentration camps and in many cases narrowly escaping death, they themselves are fortunate to have been born after the war and to have grown up in a time of peace. Nevertheless, the Holocaust, although they did not experience it directly, haunts them from childhood like a kind of curse, like a ghost they do not understand and cannot name, weighing on them like an unbearably heavy burden – a burden made even heavier by the fact that many parents do not want to talk about their experiences with their children, whether because they are unable to or because they want to spare their offspring from memories of unspeakable pain, thus unknowingly deepening their trauma... The trauma then manifests in the lives of the descendants of those who survived the Shoah in various ways: Some live as if they themselves were victims of persecution, others feel that they do not live for themselves but for their parents, and that through them, they live the lives of hundreds of people whose lives were cut short by the war.
