The first Czech edition in its original form, in accordance with the author's wishes and artistic intent. The new edition of one of the most beloved books of the 20th century is the first and so far the only Czech edition that reflects as accurately and faithfully as possible the original form in which Exupéry's work saw the light of day during the author's lifetime. It is based on the first New York edition from 1943, which represents the only adaptation created in collaboration with the author, which the author approved and which is fully in line with his wishes, overall graphic and visual conception, and artistic intent. Thus, for the first time, Czech readers are presented with The Little Prince in its original form, allowing them to uncover new meanings in the work that had previously remained hidden. The new translation also meets the requirement for fidelity to the original author's idea and the meaning of the work. The theme of Exupéry's short, seemingly simple yet profound text is the encounter with the mysterious figure of the little prince, who suddenly appears to a pilot stranded in the middle of the desert.
