Vladimír Kiseljov focuses on painting, but also on the long-term study of the lives and works of some famous composers, poets, and philosophers, which he captures in his portraits. In his current book, he presents new multi-layered visual and textual portraits of 22 personalities, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Goethe, Shakespeare, Comenius, Meyrink, and others. The author uses his knowledge of symbolism and mythology to narrate the fates of people through unmistakable colors, shapes, and compositions, striving to capture the primal spark of their souls. The number 22 was deliberately chosen by the author as a number that reflects the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet, through which the world was symbolically created. It represents for Kiseljov the fullness of all archetypes of human nature in their oppositions, presented by these personalities of art and spirit.
